About the role
The Department of Surgery, Section of Colorectal Surgery is seeking a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
- Participate in teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds.
- Teach students and residents in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services.
- Contribute to continuing medical education and attend local, regional, and national meetings.
- Assume administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents and students and participating in committee memberships at the Departmental and Health System levels.
Requirements
- Board eligible or board certified in surgery and colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
- Outstanding clinical skills, a collaborative spirit, compassion, and a desire to provide high-quality care.
- A graduate of an accredited medical school, completed an accredited general residency training program, completed an accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship, and hold a Texas Medical license without restrictions.
Qualifications
- Minimum MD degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completed an accredited general surgery residency program.
- Completed an accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in surgery and colon and rectal surgery.
- Hold a valid Texas Medical license without restrictions.
