About the role

The Department of Surgery, Section of Colorectal Surgery is seeking a fellowship trained colorectal surgeon for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
  • Participate in teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds.
  • Teach students and residents in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services.
  • Continue medical education and attend local, regional, and national meetings.
  • Have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents and students and participating in committee memberships at the Departmental and Health System levels.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completed an accredited general residency training program.
  • Completed an accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
  • Hold a Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Qualifications

Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an accredited general residency training program, have completed an accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship and be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.
