Assistant Professor of Clinical - OBGYN, Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Division of Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) at the University of Miami is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical in Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology on the Clinician Educator track.

Job Functions

• Provide care for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients within the Division of Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG).
• Manage the full spectrum of PAG, including vulvovaginal disorders, menstrual disorders, congenital anomalies of the reproductive system, intersex, adnexal masses, chronic pelvic pain, and endometriosis.
• Collaborate with medical students, residents, and fellows in OBGYN, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and Medicine/Pediatrics programs.
• Participate in the development of a PAG fellowship.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families across diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Develop educational webinars for patients and families.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology
• ABOG certification or eligibility
• PAG specialty practice certification or eligibility

• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills And Attitudes

• Dedication to promoting PAG as a specialty.
• Ability to communicate well with patients and their families across various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Desirable skills include Spanish and/or Creole language proficiency.
• Surgical experience in ovarian tissue freezing and management of differences of sexual development.

Department Specific Functions

• Direct care to PAG patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
• Consultation for nonservice unit patients by telephone.
• PAG consultation for emergency and inpatients at Jackson Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
• Billing and documentation occur in Cerner for Jackson Hospital and Epic for UHealth, with additional programs for cross facility billing and ultrasound.
