Assistant Professor of Clinical - OBGYN, Gynecology Oncology

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Division of Gynecologic Oncology (GYO) at the University of Miami is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical.

Job Functions

• Provide comprehensive high-risk pregnancy care to women, working alongside allied health professionals, specialists, and subspecialists.
• Advocate for and educate OB/GYN medical students, residents, and GYO fellows.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive medical treatment plan addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural domains.
• Perform physical assessments of patients in a respectful manner.
• Prescribe medical treatments and clinical drugs to patients.
• Collect and analyze pertinent patient information through reviews of records and interviews.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and supply instrument inadequacies to appropriate personnel.
• Report quality assurance (QA) incidents, including medication errors, to the responsible physician.
• Increase knowledge and expertise by attending continuing educational offerings.
• Made informed decisions about interventions based on patient information, up-to-date scientific evidence, and clinical judgment.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
• Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Qualifications

• Board certified/eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology.
• Active Florida Medical License and DEA credentialing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• MD/DO degree and BE/BC in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology.

Department Specific Functions

• Develop a personalized treatment plan for reproductive cancer-related diagnosis.
• Teach 28 residents and medical students daily.
• Dedicated to providing high-quality patient care and exemplary teaching.

Additional Responsibilities

• Primary clinical responsibilities include participation in inpatient and outpatient Gynecologic Oncology clinical practice at the UMMSOM and Jackson Health System sites.
• Direct care to gynecologic oncology patients.
• Consultation for hospitalized patients on GYO service.
• Consultation for nonservice unit patients by telephone.
• Use Epic, Cerner for documentation, and MobileCharge for billing.
