About the Role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology to serve as a full-time Gynecology physician at the USC Verdugo Hills outpatient clinic and hospital. This position is part of the Division of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Gynecologic Sub-Specialties. The department is committed to serving the underserved population in East Los Angeles through its affiliation with Los Angeles General Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and surgical care for gynecology patients, including:
    • Preventive Care & Screenings: Conduct annual well-woman exams, breast exams, and cervical cancer screenings.
    • Sexual & Reproductive Health: Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs), menstrual disorders, and pelvic pain.
    • Family Planning: Advise on birth control options, manage contraception, and assess fertility concerns.
    • Menopause Management: Diagnose, evaluate, and manage symptoms such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and non-hormonal medications.
    • Gynecologic Surgery: Perform both minimally invasive and complex procedures.
  • Supervise a nurse practitioner in clinic.
  • Perform thorough medical history and physical examinations.
  • Complete timely, detailed, and accurate documentation of assessments, including updated problem lists and care plans for each patient encounter.
  • Complete orders and perform appropriate test analysis and diagnostic procedures as required by evidence-based practice.
  • Administer and prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Meet minimum daily patient threshold.

Qualifications

  • MD degree with completion of a 4-year ACGME-accredited Ob/Gyn residency.
  • Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Eligibility and willingness to apply for a California medical license; must be licensed to practice medicine in California by the time of appointment.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position is $260,000–$290,000, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
