Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Psychology/Honors [R0152296]
About the role
The Honors College and the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invite applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2027. This position will report to both academic units and include teaching responsibilities equal to both units. The person in this position will also contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and other forms of college and university service.
Responsibilities
- Teach HON 201 (Honors General Psychology) and 400-level honors seminars that are interdisciplinary but rooted in psychology and the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Develop and instruct undergraduate courses in children’s mental health (a B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology has recently been developed and approved).
- Contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and other forms of college and university service.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Substantial teaching experience (including online teaching).
- A willingness to work with a program coordinator for purposes of assessment and quality control.
