About the role

Fayetteville State University’s Department of Psychology seeks qualified and dedicated candidates for two (2) Tenure-Track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. All qualified applicants will be considered for open positions. The primary purpose of the position is to teach core courses and, potentially, to contribute to the growth of a master’s program in counseling/clinical psychology. The candidate will also be expected to develop a research program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core courses in psychology.
  • Potentially contribute to the development of a master’s program in counseling/clinical psychology.
  • Develop a research program.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate degree in psychology from an accredited university.
  • ABD (All but Dissertation) are encouraged to apply.
  • The successful candidate selected for the position will be expected to receive a doctoral degree at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of teaching experience at the college level.
  • Research experience as evidenced by publications/dissertation.
  • Clinical/Counseling background.
  • Experience teaching/working with diverse population of colleagues and students.
