Assistant Professor
Primary Purpose Of Position
The Department of Public Administration at North Carolina Central University seeks a dynamic scholar-practitioner at the Assistant Professor level in this tenure-track faculty position. This faculty member will be a member of core faculty of the NASPAA-accredited MPA Program. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our mission and preparing leaders for public service. We are particularly seeking individuals with expertise and a desire to contribute to our core course curriculum and elective course offerings.
Responsibilities
- Teach core and elective courses in both face-to-face, hybrid and online formats
- Engage in active research and pursue external funding opportunities
- Provide mentorship and advising to students
- Contribute to curriculum development
- Participate in program assessment
- Contribute to community service initiatives
- Supervise internships, theses, and certifications
Qualifications
- PhD in Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related field
- Experience teaching at the graduate level
- Active research record
- Strong commitment to public service and community engagement
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment
