Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented Pastry Chef who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, and community as we are! In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team offering a unique menu selection of more than 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins—all made with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Stand, lift, and mix for extended periods
• Work through change and maintain flexibility while keeping a close eye on baking processes
• Start shifts early (before sunrise)
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards

Requirements

• 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required)
• Experience working quickly to decorate pastries
• Attentiveness to food safety and sanitation standards
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus but not required

Pay

Hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn tips on each shift.
