Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented Pastry Chef who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, and community as we are. In this role you will be part of a dynamic team producing a unique menu of more than 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins all made with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to detail to create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs or more
• Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift with limited opportunities for sitting
• Work through change and remain flexible while maintaining quality standards
• Arrive early; all Pastry Chef shifts start early in the morning

Requirements

• 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience with a preference for experience working quickly to decorate amazing pastries
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handler and sanitation standards
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus but not required

• All locations are closed every Sunday and on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas
• Morning/daytime availability required
