About the Role

The Hotel Hershey is a Historic Hotel of America and a AAA Four-Diamond Award winner, featuring 326 guest rooms, including 19 Villas with 98 luxury sleeping rooms, and 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. This position plays a primary role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of all baked and pastry goods served at The Hotel Hershey while fostering a positive and focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Organize overall production to maintain an even level of daily team workload to comfortably meet deadlines while maintaining execution of quality and standards*
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers
  • Assist in the management and mentorship of the pastry shop staff*
  • Supervise, motivate, train, delegate, and counsel team members for success and growth, ensuring high-quality food presentation and adherence to Forbes standards*
  • Project a positive, self-motivated, and professional attitude at all times; stay updated on industry trends and maintain current standards*
  • Assist with food ordering, pars, and proper storage of baking and pastry goods; complete monthly food inventories with accuracy*
  • Monitor compliance with company procedures, property protection, departmental policies, and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment*
  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef and/or Executive Chef with additional requests; fill in during the absence of the Pastry Chef and attend required meetings*
  • Maintain and enforce standards of good personal hygiene and proper uniform guidelines*
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related Pastry Production experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Associate’s degree (relevant work experience can be substituted—7 years)
  • Post-Employment: ServSafe Allergen certification

Skills

  • Proficient in working with details for prolonged periods
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Exemplary skills, knowledge, and leadership in kitchen production, plated and banquet desserts, baked goods, wedding cakes, and finishing techniques
