Assistant or Associate Professor of Construction Technology & Management (9-Month, Tenure-Track)

About the role

The College of Engineering & Technology at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a 9-month, full-time, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position within the Department of Construction Technology & Management.

Responsibilities

• Teach and advise students in a four-year BS Construction Management program (accredited by the American Council for Construction Education – ACCE) and its two-year AAS program – Building Construction Technology & Management.
• Engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance.
• Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
• Cultivate an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND five years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial).
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND an MBA plus eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field and eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility.
• A Master's degree in field or an approved related field will be required prior to tenure.
• If a candidate has a PhD in Construction Engineering or Construction Management, the Bachelor’s or Master's degree must be in Construction Engineering or Construction Management and five years full-time construction experience (commercial or industrial) is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of higher education teaching experience, including an award of tenure for the rank of Associate Professor.
• Higher-level degree (PhD) in Construction Management or a closely related degree requires five years of full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial).

Pay

$72,000 - $95,000; $72,000 - $77,000 Assistant Professor; $84,000-$95,000 Associate Professor. Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FFA Agreement.
