About the role
Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
Promotes evidence-based practice, ensures quality outcomes, and fosters a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide guidance.
Aids in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- 2+ years acute care nursing experience
- 2+ years of experience providing leadership of care team or equivalent (i.e. team leader, clinical nurse coordinator)
