Assistant Nurse Manager - Hematology Oncology

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager supports daily unit operations, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and oversees patient care delivery around the clock. Responsibilities include developing nursing staff through coaching, training, and performance management, monitoring the department budget, and assisting in maintaining operational efficiency. They promote the nursing philosophy by supporting educational initiatives and research efforts, ensuring high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a management team member, understanding business operations and industry trends.
• Guides and develops nursing staff to meet organizational goals.
• Supports operational efficiency and collaborates with support services.
• Assists in educational and research initiatives to promote nursing objectives.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required, MSN or higher preferred.
• Current Ohio RN licensure and BLS certification required; additional certifications (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP) as per unit assignment.
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience; 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Clinical pediatrics experience and proficiency in MS Office and EMR software required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and staff development abilities.
