Role Overview
The Nurse Manager is a leadership position responsible for the clinical and operational management of a hospital unit or service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily clinical and environmental operations
- Develop and evaluate systems for quality and safety
- Oversee staffing, budgets, and resource allocation
- Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing staff
- Cook up and evaluate staff orientation, performance evaluations, and professional development
- Implement performance improvement initiatives
- Address patient satisfaction feedback
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders
- Support strategic objectives
- Promote a positive, patient-centered environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing; a Master's is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience (5+ preferred), with previous management experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
- Certification in clinical area and nursing leadership is desirable
- Proficiency in electronic health records, data analysis, and performance improvement concepts
Additional Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS if applicable
- Ability to provide feedback and work collaboratively within a team
