Assistant Manager : Lift Maintenance

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage lift maintenance and lift electrical teams.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team aligned with company values and competencies.
- Drive workforce planning, training programs, performance management, and succession planning.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Mountain Operations, Health & Safety, and corporate partners.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI B77.1, OSHA, EPA, New Hampshire State lift codes, USFS and internal policies.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure timely documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct or oversee safety audits, accident investigations, and operational readiness procedures.
- Maintain all lift maintenance and electrical records required by authorities, including daily logs, inspections, ops reports, and incident documentation.
- Direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs, including annual maintenance and component lifecycle planning.
- Maintain inventory controls for parts, tools, and equipment; manage warehouse processes and long-term stock needs.
- Support and participate in capital projects, new lift installations, and major mechanical/electrical upgrades.
- Develop annual work plans, preventive maintenance schedules, and long-range asset replacement strategies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including technical training, workflow optimization, and documentation improvements.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise asset management (EAM) systems and accurate maintenance tracking.
- Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies, manufacturers, contractors, and internal leadership.
- Provide regular updates to the Mountain Maintenance Manager and Sr. Director of Mountain Operations regarding lift status, reliability metrics, safety issues, and project progress.
- Ensure operations staff are informed and trained to support lift safety and performance.
- Manage operating and capital budgets for both mechanical and electrical lift maintenance programs.
- Forecast financial needs, develop capital project scopes, and ensure efficient departmental spending.
- Support procurement processes and maintain accurate financial documentation.
Requirements
- 3-8 years of mechanical and/or electrical lift maintenance experience.
- Expert knowledge of aerial lifts (detachable and fixed-grip), surface lifts, conveyors, and electrical systems.
- Strong working knowledge of ANSI B77.1, OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
- Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and team-development skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds and work in demanding mountain environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred
- 5+ years of electrical lift experience, including programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control systems.
- 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in alpine resort maintenance leadership.
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.

Starting Wage: $63,431.73 - $85,359.15
