Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing and coordinating daily planning, organizing, training, and leadership to achieve sales, cost, service, and profitability objectives. This hands-on leader sets expectations for teamwork, maximizes productivity, and ensures adherence to the company’s Non-Negotiables on all shifts. When the General Manager is absent, the Assistant Manager leads the restaurant, maintaining World Wrapps’ vision, values, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in managing sales, profitability, and maintaining high standards for food, service, health, and safety.
• Lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring team members follow World Wrapps procedures and standards.
• Open and close the restaurant according to company standards and procedures.
• Oversee and lead shifts to ensure efficient operations and exceptional guest service.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching team members.
• Provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and standards.
• Create a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
• Interact with guests, offer menu advice, and handle inquiries or issues effectively.
• Assist with staff scheduling and ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the week.
• Monitor labor and productivity during shifts, making adjustments as needed.
• Support the execution of marketing programs, promotions, and guest communication.
• Grow the Catering Program and manage the quality and accuracy of daily delivery orders.
• Partner with the General Manager and Kitchen Manager to oversee food and beverage prep, presentation, and recipe adherence.
• Assist with inventory management, cost control, and the delivery, storage, and quality of restaurant supplies.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and daily reconciliation procedures.
• Ensure team compliance with all health, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness and property upkeep.
• Ensure equipment is clean and in excellent working condition; report maintenance or repair needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, team members, and vendors.
• Act as a Brand Ambassador within the local community.
• Fill in where needed to maintain guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Assume responsibility for the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager.
• Prepare all required paperwork in an organized and timely manner.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in food and beverage or restaurant operations.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
• Experience with staff training, coaching, and team building.
• Basic understanding of inventory and cost control.
• Experience with staff scheduling and managing labor.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of administrative procedures for restaurant management.
• Adept at using relevant computer applications.
• Manager ServSafe Certified or ability to obtain certification.

Pay

$27/hr ($23 base plus $4-$5/hr in tips).
