Assistant Manager
About the role
Taco John's International is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager to lead their food service operations. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $16.00-$18.00 per hour, along with various benefits including a 401(k) with match, medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, free/discounted food, tuition reimbursement, paid time off (PTO), free uniforms, and life insurance. Quarterly bonuses are also provided.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the operation in the absence of the General Manager
- Direct team members to accomplish goals and objectives
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of food orders
- Ensure proper training and adherence to policies and procedures
- Count cash from registers and safe, ensuring all money is accounted for
- Manage inventory and place orders as needed
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and sanitized according to standards
- Participate in the hiring process, including reviewing applications, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees
- Coach and develop team members and shift members
- Check timecards for accuracy, staying within prescribed labor parameters
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months of restaurant experience as a Shift manager or assistant manager
- Valid Driver’s License
- ServSafe® or Prometric/NEHA Certification
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and motivation to find solutions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Enthusiastic and energetic personality
- Experience working in fast food is preferred, but a college degree is a plus
