Assistant Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise the staff and run the shifts when the Store Manager and/or General Manager is not on duty
• Direct other employees through their daily routines
• Interact with customers to make sure they have a satisfactory experience

Skills

• Must have open availability and be able to run all shifts around the Store Manager and General Managers’ schedules
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Open and close the store as necessary
• Make mid-day bank deposit runs
• Hire and fire staff as necessary, often times under the direction of the store manager and/or general manager
• Create and hand over crew schedules and ensure they are followed properly
• Supervise staff to make sure they perform their duties with customer satisfaction in mind
• Train new crew members to handle food preparation and serving duties as necessary
• Provide workers with information on food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene and any company policies, procedures, standards, and processes
• Inspect food supplies, dishware and flatware and food preparation equipment to ensure quality and standards
• Absorb inventory control of food, equipment, and supplies and report any shortages or inconsistencies to the designated staff
• Keep an eye on operational issues such as theft and wastage and establish protocols to minimize them
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is maintained on a regular basis and arrange for repairs in a timely manner
• Make reports of equipment wear and tear and sanction purchase of new equipment
• Ensure that food portions and courses are appropriate before they are served to customers
• Aid in processing payments through the cash register, credit card terminals, and also with loyalty and gift card transactions
• Listen and address customers’ complaints and suggestions
• Perform other duties as assigned
