Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures each customer receives the highest level of customer service
- Notifies the Store Manager of hiring needs/floor coverage shortage
- Aid in finding new employees
- Understand and communicate Company discount policy
- Aid in controlling payroll budget
- Schedule staff efficiently
- Aid Store Manager in staff scheduling
- Understand and follow progressive discipline procedures
- Follow corrective action process fairly and adhere to company policies and document issues
- Stay constantly aware of loss prevention
- Share ideas received from staff and customers with the Store Manager
- Understand details of upcoming promotions
- Make deposits correctly and ensure paperwork is accurate
- Know correct opening and closing procedures
- Know correct procedure for reconciling cash drawer with register tape
- Follow correct procedures for issuing refunds
- Document petty cash, safe money
- Ensure accuracy regarding merchandise that is received and shipped
- Conduct regular spot checks on store inventory
- Ensure displays are clean and current
- Ensure selling floor is maintained, organized, and set to company guidelines
- Manage the daily activity of the sales floor, backroom, and cash register area according to company policy
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong managerial skills
- Strong selling and communication skills
- Excellent product knowledge
- Strong knowledge of company history, corporate structure, and target market
- Knowledge of the competition and their prices
- Strong knowledge of POS systems
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to work varied days/hours
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs.
Education and Work Experience
- High school or equivalent
- One or more years of Store management experience in a retail environment
