Assistant Manager - 2nd

About the Role

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. They provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff, and assume full responsibility for store operations in the Store Manager's absence. The role focuses on meeting and exceeding sales, service, and operational goals, with a primary emphasis on the safety and welfare of employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience.
• Maintain and reinforce service level standards, providing service training to staff.
• Manage customer issues promptly and to their satisfaction.
• Oversee POS terminal transactions, including sales, discounts, refunds, and loyalty programs.
• Handle open/closing procedures.
• Manage inventory control, including shipping, receiving, price management, and damaged merchandise.
• Conduct physical inventories.
• Oversee sales floor merchandising and visual presentation, ensuring adherence to company standards.
• Manage payroll control, including scheduling, budget compliance, and time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports using available tools and reinforcing operational standards.
• Ensure loss prevention by adhering to policies for protecting company assets.
• Work towards a complete understanding of managing daily operations.

Qualifications

• Strong visual merchandising skills.
• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories, and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of corporate and store operations policies and procedures.
• Understanding of store presentation standards and visual merchandising.

Pay

$13.50 - $18.90 Hourly
