Assistant HR Director
About the role
The Assistant HR Director position in the Town of Danvers' HR department is seeking a professional who can collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement initiatives fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and operationalize long-term programs for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the Human Resources Department.
- Provide support in managing employee relations, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Support the Director of Human Resources in specific functional areas as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field with 3-5 years of human resources experience, or
- Associates Degree in Human Resources Management or related field with 5-7 years of human resources experience.
Certification with the Society for Human Resources Management is highly desirable.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural values and norms of various communities, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities, among others.

Schedule and Pay
- This position works 35 hours per week, Monday-Wednesday between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursdays 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00PM.
- Non-union position (grade 13) pay scale starting at $80.094.04 annually with the ability to move through the pay scale via step system to a maximum of $99,316.88.
- Hiring rate DOQ.
