Assistant HR Director
About the role
The Assistant HR Director position in the Town of Danvers' HR department is seeking a professional who can collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement initiatives fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and operationalize long-term programs.
- Operate within the Human Resources Department, potentially focusing on specific areas as directed by the Director of Human Resources.
- Provide superior customer service and maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Effective intercultural communication skills.
- Experience in personnel management and policy development.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field with 3-5 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field with 5-7 years of experience.
- Certification with the Society for Human Resources Management is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural values and norms of various communities, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities.
Qualifications

Schedule and Pay
- This position works 35 hours per week, Monday-Wednesday between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursdays 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Fridays 8:00 AM – 12:00PM.
- Non-union position (grade 13) pay scale starting at $80.094.04 annually with the ability to move through the pay scale via step system to a maximum of $99,316.88.
- Hiring rate DOQ.
