Assistant Director, Human Resources
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of successful Human Resources professional experience is required.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in recruitment, selection and retention of employees.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in HR policy administration and records
Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and leave programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
Demonstrated knowledge of certification/credential requirements of school district employees.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with diverse employee groups, administrators and stakeholders.

Skills
Assume responsibility for the recruitment, screening, interviewing, recommending and employment processing of professional, paraprofessional and hourly support personnel.
Aid in planning, implementing and evaluating district programs for personnel recruitment, selection and retention.
Partner and collaborate with district staff, department leaders and external agencies to meet the needs of all stakeholders related to compensation, accommodations, teacher certifications and leave programs.
Utilize standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
Utilize HR management systems, including but not limited to, applicant tracking system, HRIS/employee database, digital interviewing tools and virtual event platforms.
Export data and reports from various sources and sort, analyze, organize and present data in a comprehensive manner.
Evaluate experience, calculate compensation and process paraprofessional and hourly new hires, promotions and demotions in compliance with FLSA and approved district compensation plans.
Assume responsibility for planning and participating in out-of-district and out-of-state recruitment activities that may require overnight stay(s).
Create, present and provide training to prospective candidates and district staff.
Provide consistent communication to campus principals’ administrative assistants by facilitating meetings, publishing newsletters, and offering training as needed.
Assist HR directors in investigating allegations of minor employee wrongdoing, while working closely with department directors and campus administrators in the resolution of concerns and appropriate disciplinary action.
Assist HR directors in responding to incidents of potential employee involvement with drugs or alcohol.
Collect and secure physical and electronic employment documentation and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Ensure department operations contribute to the attainment of district goals and objectives and recommend policies that improve HR related programs.
Collaborate with district employees to ensure compliance with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education and local board policy.
Serve as a liaison between school district and colleges, universities and alternative certification programs.
Design and/or source recruitment materials as needed.
Promote HR events and hiring needs on social media platforms as needed.
