Responsibilities

• Support young men with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential group home setting
• Work side-by-side with staff to provide hands-on support and oversee daily routines
• Prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone in the home
• Remain calm and consistent when responding to challenging behaviors
• Actively help de-escalate situations and follow behavior support plans
• Model appropriate responses for your team
• Balance direct care, staff supervision, documentation, and problem-solving
• Maintain a structured environment

Qualifications

• Experience or working knowledge of supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused when responding to challenging or aggressive behaviors
• Strong understanding of de-escalation techniques and willingness to use trained safety interventions
• Leadership and coaching skills to guide and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
• Knowledge of behavior support plans, incident reporting, and documentation
• Ability to make sound decisions in high-stress or crisis situations
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Commitment to dignity, respect, consistency, and safety for individuals served
