Assistant Foreman

Essential Job Functions

• Co-Lead with Construction Foreman to delegate tasks to construction workers and sub-contractors.
• Building experience such as a foreman.
• Training of laborers to ensure the best skills are applied by each worker and ensure installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure safe work practices are always followed.
• Ensure safe housekeeping practices are always followed.
• Absorb and direct workers on assigned tasks.
• Verify accuracy and compliance of tasks in progress to comply with codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Create and maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to maintain a timely flow of supplies, materials, and sub-contractor work.
• Work with concrete, framing, pouring, mixing, and finishing.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment to excavate ditches, tank holes and install equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with petroleum construction.
• Equipment operation experience with operating Skid-Steer Loaders, Excavators, and Backhoes.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires the ability to acquire state specific AST/UST certifications.
• Strong communication skills.
• Overtime possible; occasional out of town jobs.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing to include but not limited to: skills testing and pre-employment background checks as well as drug/alcohol testing.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License (CDL A preferred but not required).
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outside during all types of weather.

Physical Requirements

• Must Be Able To: Walk and work on uneven terrain, including pea gravel and excavations.
• Climb in and out of equipment safely.
• Pull and break pipes loose as needed.
• Wear and properly use fall protection equipment.
• Enter confined spaces to perform tasks (when trained and authorized).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Work outdoors in both hot and cold environments.
• Pass a respirator fit test and medical evaluation when required.
• Drive safely for extended periods while maintaining focus.
• Work in prone positions (on stomach) to access underground equipment for extended periods.

Schedule

6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
Overtime possible
Occasional out of town jobs requiring over-night stay
