About the Role

Recess Hotel & Club is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our Food & Beverage leadership team, with a primary focus on supporting the daily operation of Le Flâneur, our signature French brasserie. This is a great opportunity for an emerging hospitality leader ready to take the next step. The ideal candidate may come from a leadership development program or have experience as a restaurant supervisor, front-of-house lead, or junior manager. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will support daily service, team development, and the guest experience at Le Flâneur, while also assisting with other Food & Beverage outlets and hotel operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation and leadership of Le Flâneur, helping ensure smooth, consistent service across all shifts
• Lead by example on the floor, actively supporting the team and engaging with guests throughout service
• Coach, develop, and motivate front-of-house team members while reinforcing service expectations and hospitality standards
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, shift leadership, floor assignments, and daily operational needs
• Partner with culinary and beverage teams to ensure strong communication and seamless service execution
• Help resolve guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and genuine hospitality
• Support training and onboarding for new team members
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, inventory, and other administrative responsibilities
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, presentation, and overall restaurant readiness
• Support special events, programming, and other Food & Beverage outlets throughout Recess Hotel & Club as needed
• Continue developing your knowledge of restaurant operations, financial performance, beverage, and hospitality leadership

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality leadership experience, ideally as a Supervisor, Lead, Manager in Training, or Assistant Manager
• Full-service restaurant experience strongly preferred; upscale, luxury, boutique, or lifestyle hospitality experience is a plus
• A genuine desire to build a career in Food & Beverage and hospitality leadership
• Strong guest service instincts and the confidence to lead from the floor
• Positive, approachable leadership style with the ability to coach and motivate others
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain composed and engaged in a fast-paced service environment
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take on increasing responsibility
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
