About the role

The Assistant Family Programming Director oversees childcare operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role also manages summer camp operations and supports the Childcare Director in setting initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage childcare operations smoothly and efficiently through visible presence and leadership
  • Ensure children's safety by continuously monitoring safety and performance standards, service provider ratios, childcare facilities, equipment, and operational systems
  • Interact with children in the care and perform administrative duties including Bay Club Connect, Zendesk, and other assigned platforms
  • Create, organize, implement, and promote programs, camps, and birthday parties
  • Adequately enforce health and safety standards and ensure staff adhere to HR and work safety practices
  • Maintain uniform adherence of childcare and program staff
  • Communicate and follow up as necessary, assist staff regarding sick procedures, and update the director on schedule changes
  • Meet weekly with the Childcare Director to review initiatives and goals; develop programming
  • Act as the department representative when necessary in the absence of the Childcare Director; professionally and appropriately field member questions/concerns
  • Train staff to meet or exceed demands of the business; provide feedback and build relationships
  • Monitor staff to ensure compliance with company guidelines
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of childcare operations/management/supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing innovative children’s programs
  • Loves children and extensive experience caring for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years
  • Ability to train staff caring for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years in both childcare and program settings
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Computer literate
  • CPR certification required

Qualifications

  • Ability to arrive at work on time for all scheduled work shifts required
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays required
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment
  • Frequent public contact required
  • Dealing with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations
  • Frequent movement required, including sitting for extended periods, walking around the facility, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
