About the Role

Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions. Totals charges for group functions and prepares and presents checks to group contacts for payment. Verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service, including proper centerpieces, cleanliness, and presentation of all china, glass, and silver. Checks in with guests to verify satisfaction, sets tables according to event type and service standards, and communicates meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Maintains cleanliness of work areas, supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations, and leads shift teams to provide consistent, high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies meeting and event rooms/space are set according to event documentation (Banquet Event Orders, resumes, etc.) and customer requirements.
  • Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events, adhering to and reinforcing all standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of function room amenities and other controllable supplies.
  • Attends and participates in daily stand-up, pre-shift, BEO, staff, forecast, and department meetings.
  • Conducts pre-event meetings to understand group needs and communicates critical information to Banquet, Event Services, and Event Technology teams.
  • Inspects room functions prior to each event to ensure specifications are met and delegates tasks to ensure timely room sets.
  • Verifies employee awareness of event phase portions of the Event Satisfaction Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
  • Manages departmental inventories, assets, and equipment, including ordering supplies (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet equipment).
  • Schedules Banquet and Event Service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits.
  • Utilizes banquet beverage tools to guide supervisors in controlling liquor costs and managing inventory.
  • Executes brand-specific meeting services programs (e.g., Redcoat Program, PlumPerfect Program).
  • Assists the Event Technology/Audio Visual team to ensure customer satisfaction and works with the Event Planning team for flawless event delivery.
  • Holds teams to high work standards, models those standards, and verifies OSHA regulations are up-to-date.
  • Fosters a hotel environment emphasizing motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in department meetings and the development/implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, handles guest problems and complaints, and interacts with guests to obtain feedback.
  • Identifies developmental needs of staff and coaches, mentors, or helps improve their skills.
  • Participates in employee performance appraisals and supports training initiatives.
  • Assists in interviewing and hiring team members and schedules employees to ensure shift coverage and productivity goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; plus 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • Alternatively: At least 3 years of experience in two of the following hospitality areas: food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, or housekeeping.
  • Preferred experience: running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, day-to-day operations, and hospitality skills.

Pay

$26.44–$35.58 per hour | Bonus eligible
