About the Role

Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions. Totals charges for group functions and prepares and presents checks to group contacts for payment. Verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service, including proper centerpieces on every table. Inspects cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use. Checks in with guests to verify satisfaction and sets tables according to event type and service standards. Communicates meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Maintains cleanliness of work areas and supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations.

Leads shift teams to provide consistent, high-quality service, coordinates daily stand-up meetings, pre-shift meetings, and pre/post-meal briefings. Communicates performance expectations, trains staff, and assists in financial and administrative duties. Strives to improve guest/event and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies meeting and event rooms are set according to event documentation and customer requirements.
  • Leads shifts and actively participates in servicing events while adhering to all standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains inventory of function room amenities and other controllable supplies.
  • Attends and participates in daily stand-up, BEO, staff, forecast, and department meetings.
  • Conducts pre-event meetings to understand group needs and communicates critical information to teams.
  • Performs room function inspections prior to each event to ensure specifications are met.
  • Delegates tasks to ensure room sets are on time and meet Event Management Standards.
  • Verifies employee awareness of event phase portions of satisfaction surveys and guest scores.
  • Manages departmental inventories, assets, and equipment maintenance, including ordering supplies.
  • Schedules Banquet and Event Service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits.
  • Utilizes banquet beverage tools to control liquor costs and manage inventory.
  • Executes brand-specific meeting services programs (e.g., Redcoat Program, PlumPerfect Program).
  • Assists Event Technology/Audio Visual teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Works with Event Planning teams to ensure flawless event delivery.
  • Holds teams to high work standards and models those standards.
  • Verifies knowledge of OSHA regulations is up-to-date.
  • Fosters a hotel environment emphasizing motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, handles guest problems, and obtains feedback.
  • Identifies developmental needs of staff and coaches or mentors to improve skills.
  • Participates in employee performance appraisals and supports training initiatives.
  • Assists in interviewing and hiring team members with appropriate skills.
  • Schedules employees to ensure shift coverage and meet business demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.
  • 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • OR, if no standard educational background, at least 3 years of experience in two hospitality areas (e.g., food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running a shift, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience in day-to-day operations.
  • Strong hospitality skills.

Pay

$25.96–$34.62 per hour | Bonus eligible
