Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - RN

The Assistant Director of Nursing is a critical member of the health care leadership team responsible for many aspects of clinical leadership including care planning and meeting with families regarding the care of their loved one. Responsibilities
- Effectively complete the Care Plans
- Track Physician and Ancillary Visits and Orders
- Discuss resident observations/concerns with appropriate coordinator
- Complete wound rounds and work with physicians to coordinate wound care
- Provide coaching and direction to staff as needed
- Complete discharge planning for residents including home services upon discharge
- Complete certifications and recertifications for residents in the skilled nursing unit
- Participate in weekly Medicare/Therapy/Resident meetings
- Act as the therapy liaison
- Complete reassessments for residents and hospital visits when appropriate
- Facilitate the restorative program
- Participate in morning stand-up meetings
- Assist in management of the survey process
- Assist with doctor rounds
- Serve as the "on-call" nurse in charge on a rotating basis
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a nurse in long-term care. Experience with MDS, Restorative Nursing, and/or as a nursing supervisor is highly desirable.
Computer Skills: Sufficient level of computer skills to perform electronic medical record/submission duties

- Understand how to place decision-making in the hands of residents whenever possible and appropriate
- Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to resident care and emergencies
