Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - RN

About the Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, and developing the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Under the DON’s direction, the ADON works with clinical staff to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and developing the Nursing Department.
• Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Work with clinical staff to maintain the highest degree of quality care.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
• 6 months of training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
