Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) partners with the Director of Nursing (DON) to lead, develop, and support the Nursing Department in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations. In this leadership role, you will help ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence, resident care, staff development, and operational effectiveness are maintained throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Monitor clinical practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Aid in staff training, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and families to address care needs and improve outcomes.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Help maintain a safe, compassionate, and resident-centered care environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Nursing Degree.
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or related healthcare setting.
- At least 6 months of training and experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to make independent decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, visitors, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional care and service to our Veteran population.
Preferred Experience
- In long-term care or skilled nursing leadership.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive quality initiatives, and foster a positive workplace culture.
