About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Recovery Village Atlanta (RVA) plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the Nursing Department. This position involves caring for and educating patients, establishing trust, and building rapport with patients and their families. The ADON also assists the Director of Nursing in managing the department and may assume the role of the Director of Nursing in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve pending issues from the previous shift, such as missed or incomplete labs or treatments, incomplete admissions or discharges, and missing data for continuity of care.
  • Conduct Compliance Audits related to Infection Control, including checking glucometer, refrigerator, sharps containers, laboratory cleanliness, pests in facility, hand washing, and flu campaigns.
  • Manage medication storage, returns, destruction, and communication with the pharmacy to resolve medication issues.
  • Coordinate and plan the admission workflow, print Integra and Care 360 requisitions, and ensure collected samples are properly labeled.
  • Monitor and track lab orders, outside consults, and medical transfers.
  • Coordinate Level of Care transfers in AVATAR and perform administrative functions like scanning documents into AVATAR, assisting with the work schedule, and helping BHTs with observation sheet creation/modification.
  • Assure the proper completion of nursing procedures and audit admission and discharge processes.
  • Coordinate the Vivitrol program as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain the daily scheduling of units according to approved ratios based on census.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to deliver quality patient care.
  • Ensure appropriate nurse staffing levels are maintained during State of Emergency periods and may be required to remain on-site.

Requirements

  • A minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with a registered nurse license as indicated in State law, and higher education preferred.
  • At least two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse with behavioral health experience.
  • Prior leadership/supervisor experience preferred.
  • Licensed to practice in the appropriate state, as applicable.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
