Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Logistics & Supply Chain Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing all logistics, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain functions to support the company's continued growth. This role drives operational excellence through strategic planning, ERP/EDI system leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring high service levels, cost efficiency, and supply chain scalability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute logistics and supply chain strategies to support business growth and operational scalability.
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including inventory management, transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, and distribution.
- Optimize inventory levels, transportation efficiency, and logistics costs while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, customs brokers, warehouse providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Drive ERP/EDI system implementation, integration, and process automation initiatives.
- Utilize data analytics, KPIs, and reporting tools to improve operational performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, standardize processes, and develop scalable SOPs.
- Manage departmental budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities across logistics and supply chain functions.
- Develop and mentor logistics teams while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership to ensure supply chain alignment and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Business-level Japanese and English proficiency.
- 10+ years of supply chain, logistics, or operations experience, including team leadership.
- Strong experience with inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and ERP/EDI systems.
- Experience in CPG, food, consumer products, or retail industries preferred.
- Proven leadership, analytical, and process improvement skills.
Pay
USD 140,000 - 160,000
