Assistant Director Supply Chain

About the role

The Assistant Director of Supply Chain Operations at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is responsible for managing all supply chain activities, ensuring the department's profitability, and supporting the hospital's primary functions. This role also involves leading and managing staff, implementing new systems, and promoting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all facility Supply Chain activities
• Manage the profit and loss of the facility Supply Chain operations
• Execute the infrastructure project plan for the facility
• Facilitate the implementation of market-based purchasing projects at the facility
• Coordinate, manage, and evaluate facility Supply Chain personnel
• Create a supportive environment for supply chain staff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions
• Raise and resolve facility-based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities
• Coordinate and drive efforts to enable supply improvement initiatives (SII) to succeed within the facility
• Execute the Supply Chain Performance Measurement plan at the facility and report these results to the Director of Supply Chain Operations in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure useful knowledge is captured and promote sharing of information
• Recommend sufficient number of qualified/competent staff
• Determine staff qualifications and competence
• Develop and maintain accurate initial and annual competency checklists, and initiate completion of initial and annual competency attestation forms
• Actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered
• Attend in-service presentations and complete mandatory education weekly, including infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA Standards
• Utilize the occurrence reporting system to report potential patient safety issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Three years leadership experience preferred and/or AD program graduate
