Assistant Director of Logistics

About the role

The Assistant Director of Logistics will work with Facilities and Academic equipment, manage supply chain inventory, collaborate with warehouse operations, fleet vehicles, forklift equipment, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) for the Indianapolis Campus and surrounding satellite locations. This position is responsible for inventory management and reporting, preparing requisitions for purchases, and people management of the Logistics/Events Team.

Responsibilities

• Work with Facilities and Academic equipment, manage supply chain inventory, collaborate with warehouse operations, fleet vehicles, forklift equipment, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE)
• Prepare requisitions for purchases
• Manage the Logistics/Events Team
• Inventory management and reporting
• People management of the Logistics/Events Team

Requirements

• Basic computer skills to assess, modify, and assign work orders as requested
• Customer service, in the form of written and verbal communication
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Valid Driver’s License in the State of Indiana
• Frequent local travel to all buildings in the service area
• Occasional travel to other Ivy Tech campus locations within the state
• Forklift certification
• Collaborative planning and project management skills
• Use of basic hand tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs independently on a frequent basis
• Supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with one (1) to three (3) years related work experience, OR an Associate’s degree, OR industry related certification along with three (3) to four (4) years related work experience

Skills

• Experience in an educational institution
• Warehousing experience
• White Belt in Lean Six Sigma
