Position Summary / Career Interest
The System Assistant Director of Spend Management Distribution and Logistics is responsible for casting a vision, developing strategy, and executing on tactical plans to achieve operational excellence for the system. This role acts as a logistics leader at locations as assigned across the health system.
Responsibilities
- Thinks strategic and acts tactical; develops plan for both short and long-term success of the department and the health system.
- Oversees processes at a system level to ensure that departments exceed system objectives for safety, quality, cost, employee well-being, delivery, and process excellence; processes should be SIMPLE, VISIBLE, and REPEATABLE.
- Plans, develops, and executes strategies for reducing costs and increasing efficiencies.
- Holds teams accountable to Health System inventory control policies and procedures.
- Ensures that the department(s) operate within budget constraints and service expectations for the health system.
- Maximizes utilization of the Enterprise Resource Planning system for receiving, distribution, and inventory control.
- Directs the integration of essential processes to enhance current products and processes.
- Ensures that the department is prepared to meet regulatory and legal requirements for both known and unknown inspections or audits.
- Tenacious focus on the customer and clear bias towards action.
- Ensures compliance with company, state, federal, and local policies, regulations, and safety/health standards.
- Leads all distribution and logistics safety and security processes and initiatives.
- Participates in meetings and direct meetings when appropriate.
- Provides professional presentations before peers, various committees, vendors, or professional organizations.
- Affords assistance to the staff, and external departments with Hospital receiving, distribution, and inventory control issues and problem resolution.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or Supply Chain or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 8 or more years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
- 5 or more years of managerial experience.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.
Skills and duties may vary dependent upon your department or unit.
Other duties may be assigned as required.

- Maintain proficiency for departmental and system training requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
