About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance will lead the finance operations of Alameda County Transportation Commission (CTC), overseeing key areas including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, treasury, grants, payroll, and debt management. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role requires a strategic finance leader with governmental accounting expertise who is passionate about public service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
  • Manage the budgeting process and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards
  • Direct the accounting function, including payroll and debt management
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support agency goals
  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders
  • Oversee grant management and compliance with funding requirements
  • Manage the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting and investment strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in governmental accounting and finance
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a finance team
  • Experience with governmental accounting systems and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay
