The County of San Mateo is seeking an accomplished executive leader to serve as the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BRHS).
About the role
This position plays a critical role in overseeing the delivery of behavioral health services and recovery support programs within the county.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of behavioral health services.
- Oversee the coordination and integration of various behavioral health programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to behavioral health care.
- Manage the budget and financial resources of the BRHS department.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the recovery outcomes for individuals receiving behavioral health services.
- Collaborate with community partners to address the unique needs of San Mateo County's diverse population.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as psychology, public health, or social work.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health administration or a closely related field.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Experience leading large-scale behavioral health initiatives and demonstrating strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral health policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain high standards of performance.
Qualifications
- At least 1040 hours of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, extra-help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date.
- Five points added to the final passing score on this examination for current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months of continuous service.
