About the Hospital
Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is a psychiatric hospital that began offering substance abuse and mental health services in 2002. Originally established to serve adolescents, Lighthouse has transitioned to providing a full spectrum of acute inpatient services for adults and seniors. Since 2010, the hospital has expanded its mental health and substance abuse services, including:
- Opening a 28-day inpatient chemical dependency rehabilitation unit in 2013—the first of its kind in the Grand Strand area.
- Launching an acute adolescent unit in 2015 to meet the needs of teens and their families.

About the Role
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing daily nursing care, providing leadership, administrative direction, and supervision of staff. This is a working supervisory position for a seasoned professional who leads and mentors RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations.
- Provide leadership, administrative direction, and supervision to nursing and ancillary staff.
- Mentor and set an example for RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), and other team members.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered South Carolina nursing license.
- Current BLS and First Aid Certification.
- Experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
- Managerial experience preferred.
