Assistant Director of Admissions / Regional Recruiter (Asheville) - Western Carolina University

This is a regional, full-time position based in Asheville, NC with territories throughout the western regions of North Carolina. The successful candidate is expected to live within the geographic region from which they recruit and travel to the main campus in Cullowhee, NC up to twice per semester (fall, spring, and summer) for meetings and large recruitment events.

Responsibilities

• Provide information to students and their families about the benefits of a college education and available means of acquiring it.
• Disseminate specific and accurate information about admission, financial aid, academic programs, and campus life at Western Carolina University to prospective students, families, and counselors.
• Evaluate academic credentials to determine admissibility and render admission decisions.
• Design and implement activities and programs to enhance the yield of prospects to enrolled students.
• Coordinate special projects related to student recruitment.
• Improve the image of Western Carolina University by assisting in the design and development of print and electronic marketing materials that reflect the quality academic programs offered by the university.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with high school counselors, community college counselors, and community-based organization leaders.
• Conduct recruitment activities at regional schools, including high schools and community colleges, and participate in regional forums as a representative of the WCU Admissions Office.
• Travel weekly within the assigned region, including limited evening and weekend work.
• Attend all Open House and other recruiting events in Cullowhee as needed, as well as up to one day per academic semester (Fall, Spring, Summer).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Entry-level experience in admissions, enrollment, or a related field.
