About the Role

The Assistant Director - Regional Recruiter will focus on recruiting high school and community college transfer students in the Raleigh/Wake County area. This position will build relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent admissions decisions. The role involves extensive travel and event participation to promote UNCG's brand and enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

  • First Year Recruitment & Travel (40%):
    • Recruit and cultivate prospects, applicants, and admitted students through various activities.
    • Visit high schools and community colleges, attend college fairs, and sponsor recruitment events.
    • Manage a geographic territory, send communications, and travel extensively (7-9 weeks in fall, 5-6 weeks in spring).
    • Support targeted recruitment initiatives and speak publicly to large audiences.
  • Transfer Recruitment & Travel (30%):
    • Recruit community college transfer students in Wake County and surrounding areas.
    • Build relationships with community college counselors and evaluate transfer credentials.
    • Enhance UNCG’s brand awareness in community college spaces.
  • File Review/Admissions Decisions (20%):
    • Articulate admissions procedures to prospective students, parents, and counselors.
    • Evaluate credentials and make independent admissions decisions.
    • Encourage admitted students to matriculate to UNCG.
  • Event Planning (10%):
    • Co-plan and execute joint events with surrounding colleges to target counselor relationships.

Qualifications

  • Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and equivalent experience.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in college admissions recruitment.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree, experience with community college students, and familiarity with AdmissionPros, Slate, Banner, or similar systems.
  • Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to make independent, research-based decisions and interpret policies.

Pay

Recruitment Range: $47,707 - $54,000

Schedule

Extensive travel required: 7-9 weeks in fall, 5-6 weeks in spring.
