Assistant Director for Alumni Engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and execution of a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy.
  • Lead the planning and execution of key alumni programs and events, such as Homecoming, reunions, alumni awards programs, spirit and support days, and other engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate all aspects of event management, including vendor relations, volunteer coordination, logistics, promotion, budget tracking, reporting, and post-event assessment.
  • Create engaging content that strengthens alumni connections, promotes giving opportunities, and enhances community engagement.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to plan and implement special events that support university priorities, including campaign events, dedications, and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate communications, meetings, and activities for the Alumni Board.
  • Aid in donor cultivation and alumni solicitation efforts, including giving day initiatives and student engagement programs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to student employees and work-study students.
  • Occasionally assist with occasional evening and weekend events and limited travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in alumni relations, advancement, event planning, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience creating content for digital communications and social media platforms.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, volunteers, and campus partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and constituent relationship management databases preferred.
