Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement

Responsibilities

  • Regional, Professional, and Affinity Based Programming: Manage and support programming, collaborate with stakeholders, plan strategic events, cultivate community connections, and recruit new volunteers.
  • Young Alumni Engagement and Giving: Develop programs for recent graduates, support young alumni events, foster ongoing connections, conduct individual alumni visits, and implement an annual plan to strengthen engagement across all four pillars.
  • Reunion Class Committees: Manage at least five Reunion Class Committees, encouraging class attendance, reconnecting with lost classmates, developing class-specific programming, and serving as liaisons to their classes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and experience, required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working in an Alumni and Development office, preferably in an education setting.
  • One to two years of management experience required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, give and receive feedback, prioritize problems, and develop solutions.
  • Critical thinking, clear, concise, and effective writing and speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, ability to learn new software solutions, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in conjunction with the School calendar and events.

Qualifications

  • Clear understanding of Lawrenceville’s alumni engagement strategy and its four pillars: Philanthropy, Volunteerism, Communication, and Experiential.
  • Experience in managing and executing annual event and communications plans, coordinating volunteer touchpoints, and conducting individual alumni visits.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in building and maintaining relationships with alumni volunteers and classes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Schedule
