Assistant Director, Bureau of Early Intervention

About the role

The Bureau of Early Intervention oversees the provision of therapeutic services to approximately 30,000 children aged birth to 3 years each year. The Regional Office is responsible for monitoring and ensuring consistent practices across the program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the oversight of the Regional Office practices and work to ensure consistency with other EI Regional offices.
  • Oversee staff work in the EI Hub case management and billing system.
  • Supervise Regional Office staff.
  • Advise the Regional Director on all matters relating to the Regional Office performance.
  • Work with staff to ensure delivery of high-quality services to NYC’s children and families.
  • Address Parent and Provider Complaints and participate in Due Process proceedings as needed.
  • Aid in staff hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development.
  • Aid in developing reports and presentations.
  • Develop and implement procedures, databases, and indicators to maintain information and monitor office performance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, or Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization, Physical Sciences or related programs; and a minimum of four years of progressive, responsible, experience related to Health Care Program Planning, Research, Design, Operation, Evaluation and Analysis;
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration, Health Care Specialization, Business Administration or related disciplines; and a minimum of three years progressive, responsible, experience directly related to health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation and analysis;
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination or training, education and experience;
  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
