Assistant Coach Associate (Part-time) Instructor Pool 2026 - 2027

MiraCosta College is accepting applications to build a pool of instructors for possible future part-time assignments at all locations. Assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends. Applications are valid through June 30, 2027.

Residency Requirement

MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800 requires all associate faculty employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of this policy is to promote efficiency, continuity, and high-quality student services. Associate faculty with fully online assignments must reside within California but may live beyond the 200-mile limit. The District may consider temporary exceptions on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.

About the Role

Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Assistant Coach supports the development and success of student-athletes by assisting in the planning and execution of team practices, recruitment, game preparation, and student engagement. This position is part of the Associate Faculty and contributes to the college’s educational mission through mentorship, leadership, and support of student-athletes.

Pay

$46.71 to $56.83 per hour. Initial class placement is based on education, with all new associate faculty starting at step 1. Pay is calculated as: Hourly Pay Rate × # of Hours Worked = Total Pay.
