Summary
Operate specialized/heavy construction equipment involved in the maintenance and construction of County roads and city projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates different types of specialized/heavy equipment
- Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
- Transports equipment and supplies
- Maintains and controls traffic at work site
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
- May perform general landscape maintenance
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- To apply, must have High School Diploma or GED + two (2) years of full-time, related work experience (truck driving, heavy equipment operation, yard maintenance, etc.)
- OR To apply, must have seven (7) full-time years of full-time related work experience (Note: Full-time = 2,080 work hours per year).
- OR To apply, must possess a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver License
- Must have basic knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, push and pull. May have to lift heavy boxes or objects up to 100 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.Tarrant County Offers
