About the Role
The Assistant Banking Center Manager is a multipurpose role focused on service, operations, and customer experience. This position serves as the backup to the Banking Center Manager, ensuring the branch runs smoothly and efficiently while the manager develops client relationships and sales. The role emphasizes day-to-day operations, acting as the point of contact for bankers and overseeing operational functions within the branch.
Responsibilities
- Master the account opening process and handle client maintenance needs.
- Serve as the expert within the banking center for operational, procedural, or customer service issues, making quick decisions and answering questions.
- Perform or oversee on-the-job training for RBI and RBII roles, covering transaction processing, account opening and maintenance, product knowledge, service standards, procedures, customer issue resolution, operational policies, sales, and more.
- Expertly onboard sophisticated product lines such as commercial and treasury clients.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills, including computer programs for client needs and branch automation tools like service events, workflows, and email.
- Exhibit superior leadership in sales, service, operational efficiency, risk applications, and internal control to meet bank objectives.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the branch.
- Develop new business and personal relationships while focusing on retaining existing clients.
- Ensure and/or perform NSF processing and customer outreach, adhering to procedural guidelines.
- Adhere to, mentor, and monitor team members on bank security, compliance procedures, and internal/operational risk controls in line with regulatory standards.
- Communicate and coach branch staff on company and departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with the Banking Center Manager to address branch issues promptly and celebrate team wins to maintain positive morale.
- Lead a collaborative atmosphere across departments to encourage teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Actively engage in training and learning opportunities to improve bank processes and personal growth.
- Multitask and support the team with a collaborative perspective.
- Conduct client-facing transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments as needed.
- Assist the branch team with cash balancing and error resolution, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of issues.
- Master, mentor, and/or perform operational functions such as ITM balancing, vault balancing, card audits, shipments, opening/closing procedures, audits, alarm testing, and daily/monthly documentation.

- Maintain professionalism with clients at every touchpoint.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the banking industry.
- 2-3 years of leadership experience.
- 2-3 years of operational experience within a fast-paced environment.
- 4+ years of customer service experience.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
