Assistant/Associate Professor in Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences
About the role
The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences (DPTHMS), Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, invites senior scientists to apply for a new full-time appointment for a tenured position in the area of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Responsibilities
- Contain a translational component, with this requirement being broadly defined, ranging from studies of mechanisms of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders with translational implications to clinical studies on patients.
- A strong record of federal grant support is essential.
- A major component of the position will involve a significant leadership role for further developing the Department’s already excellent research program, with a specific goal of expanding translational research.
- Teaching responsibilities will be modest, primarily involving courses for graduate students in physical therapy, neuroscience and/or biomedical engineering.
Requirements
This position is being offered at the assistant/associate professor level. Salary is negotiable.
Qualifications
- Hold a PhD or PhD/PT, with a strong track record of scholarly productivity, grant support and trainee mentorship.
